Project 3 Pitch:
In Project 2, I discussed the Honors Medical Scholars Society that I became a member of during this first semester and researched how this society preps its students to become more rounded pre-physicians with understanding of the importance of patient-centered care. My Project 3 is focused on the values I believe in for medicine, how I believe patient-centered care can be implemented, and how I will channel these beliefs to make a difference through HMSS. Project 3 begins with an HMSS profile that I created with my values and why I want to be a physician. The second genre in this project is a PowerPoint presentation I created and a brief talk about my experience shadowing a doctor who I believe demonstrated the practice of patient-centered care because this experience was very moving and important to me. I will be presenting these at an upcoming meeting to my fellow scholars to contribute how the HMSS shapes its values and produces influences from our experiences. The third and final genre of my project is the first step for a new medical service opportunity I am working to introduce to HMSS. This is an outline that I have created for a Health Education project that I am in the process of creating and will present in its completion next semester after its approval. This outline demonstrates all of the points I would like to emphasize to reach the needs of our audience in the way that would be most beneficial for them to receive this information.
